Partials and currying
Partially applying a function is a, particularly, interesting technique in which you can pre-fill-in arguments to a function before it is ever executed. In effect, partially applying a function returns a new function which you can call.
-
Using call to chain constructors for an object
We can chain constructors together to make a "base" object hold state on like properties. (inheritance ) setting the prototype of an object to a new instance of the base object gives us the ability to call it with the "this" scope of the calling object.
-
Using call to invoke an anonymous function
example shows how Call can be used to change the context of a function (in this case anonymous) to pass in a new "this" scope. Here each iteration of the loop passes an object from the array making it the current this context. an example of a closure is also shown here. the "saysomething" parameter is locked in the closure and the phrase will always be attached to the objects version of print.
