How to Avoid Losing Your Car Keys

It can be a major hassle to lose your car keys. Fortunately, there are several ways you can keep this from occurring.
Keep your car keys secure by using traditional key chains, or clearing your home or office. If you need more complex keys, you can contact your dealer or a locksmith.
Retract Your Steps
It is common to locate your keys by following your steps. This may sound like the most old-fashioned piece of advice however it can be extremely useful in locating lost items. The first step is to return to the last location you recall having your keys. For instance, if you dropped them when getting out of your vehicle, look around your driveway and garage to see if the keys are there. Examine all the items that might have fallen on the table if you dropped them.
If retracing your steps does not work, try writing down everything you did during the day to stir up memories of where your keys might be. This may also help narrow down your search.
Check Your Hiding Spots
Losing keys is the most traumatic feeling particularly if you're late. It's easy to get distracted and forget to put them in your home and then forget where they are. This is why it's essential to put your keys in the same spot when you've used them. This way, they become a habit and you'll are aware of where they can be found in the future.
When you're trying to find your keys, start by retracing your steps, and looking for the usual places you may have set them down. This includes countertops, tables and key hooks. You can also examine your bags and pockets for any items that might have been taken out.
Next, check the inside of your vehicle. Many people hide their keys in bags or compartments of their car. It's a good idea, if your keys come with an ID card, to take the fob from its holder in order to determine whether it's gone missing.
