Cyberpunk 2077 Item Upgrading Guide
It is essential to upgrade your equipment in order to maximize your gearing capabilities. It lets you add bonus stats and bonuses in addition to the value of your base item.
Each upgrade template has a set of options which can be changed by using the edition GUI. These options include upgrading reference and the possibility of upgrading.
Upgrade components
As part of the 2.0 update the system for upgrading the armor and weapons in Cyberpunk has been improved. Upgrade components can be found all over Night City, and the item you want to upgrade must have an upgrade slot available. The game will display an overview of the expected stats for the item after upgrading. It will also display the component or material needed. If you don't have the necessary level of material or component needed to upgrade the item, the button will show "Blocked."
Weapons and armor can be upgraded as well as a few trinkets and gathering tools. Upgrade slots can be filled on any item, granting bonus effects or attributes when the equipment is used. These upgrades can be acquired through crafting, bought from a vendor or taken from the loot.
There are two kinds of upgrades of gemstones and universal upgrades. Universal upgrades are comparable to gems and are able to be used in any type of equipment. They provide a lower bonus than other upgrade components. These are easy to obtain because they are dropped by enemies and taken from loot bins all over the world. Gems can be obtained through disassembling items or through doing certain missions.
Upgrades can be replaced with new upgrades in a weapon's upgrade slot. However, doing so will destroy the previous upgrade. Except for glyphs, which can be placed into gathering tools, all other upgrades cannot be salvaged or removed once they are placed in an item.
